ADKAR

This perspective states Alescent's posture toward ADKAR as an external change-management model.

It supports derived content, customer-facing interpretation, advisory work, and internal agent guidance where ADKAR is relevant to Value Realization Management.

Alescent Position

ADKAR is a useful external lens for thinking about individual change. It can help structure discussion of awareness, desire, knowledge, ability, and reinforcement.

Alescent may use ADKAR-compatible language where it helps a customer understand change adoption, especially where the customer already uses Prosci, ADKAR, or related change-management practices.

ADKAR is not Alescent's governing model. It does not define Value Realization, Value Realization Management, Change Realization, Effects, Value Statements, Value Realization Statements, Valuation Approaches, or Alescent commercial mechanics.

Value Realization Interpretation

Alescent interprets ADKAR through a Value Realization lens:

ADKAR element Alescent interpretation
Awareness Players understand the value case, the reason for change, the consequence of inaction, and the relevant realization conditions.
Desire Players with relevant expectations, accountability, responsibility, contribution, or consumption roles have sufficient commitment and incentive alignment to participate in the change.
Knowledge Players have the information, context, methods, and competency development required to perform in the changed state.
Ability Players, Practices, Platforms, Products, Partners, and Projects can actually operate in the changed state under real conditions.
Reinforcement The changed state is sustained through evidence, cadence, support, governance, controls, incentives, and value monitoring.

Preferred Use

Use ADKAR when it helps:

  • translate Value Realization into familiar change-management language;
  • diagnose adoption barriers;
  • structure individual-change discussion;
  • align with customer change-management teams;
  • design readiness, training, support, or reinforcement activity;
  • explain why deployment is insufficient for realization.

Prohibited Use

Do not use ADKAR to:

  • redefine Value Realization terms;
  • replace the Value Participation Model;
  • define Alescent commercial entitlements;
  • treat adoption-stage completion as realized value;
  • treat individual sentiment as validation;
  • treat training completion as competency;
  • treat communication delivery as awareness without evidence;
  • imply Alescent is a Prosci or ADKAR implementation provider unless expressly scoped.

Relationship to Change Realization Management

ADKAR may support Change Realization Management as a diagnostic or communication lens.

Change Realization Management remains broader because it governs not only individual change, but also the evidence, operating, competency, capability, platform, partner, practice, product, project, and value conditions required for realization.

Derived Content Guidance

Derived content may say:

  • Alescent's Change Realization Management practice is compatible with ADKAR where ADKAR helps structure individual adoption.
  • ADKAR can help explain the Player-side conditions of Value Realization.
  • Alescent supplements ADKAR by connecting adoption to value evidence, valuation logic, governance, and realized outcomes.

Derived content should not say:

  • Alescent's model is ADKAR.
  • ADKAR is required for Value Realization.
  • ADKAR stage completion proves realized value.
  • Alescent replaces customer Change Management teams.

Future Review

This perspective should be reviewed if Alescent develops a broader Prosci-specific posture or if customer work requires a more detailed mapping among ADKAR, Value Realization Domains, Effects, and performance measures.
