Offerings¶
This area contains Alescent Offerings and Offering Classes.
Offerings are market-facing or partner-facing ways of packaging Alescent practices, patterns, products, platforms, playbooks, proof, people, and engagement methods around recognizable Value Realization™ needs or entry points.
Offering Classes define repeatable structures for categories of Offerings. Individual Offerings instantiate an Offering Class for a specific value context, priority, persona, market, platform, practice, product, partner, project, or other applicable scope.
Core Distinction¶
An Offering Class defines the reusable structure, purpose, method, guidance, and expected use of a type of Offering.
An Offering applies an Offering Class to a specific context.
An Amended Offering modifies an Offering for a specific customer, partner, account, scope, priority, investment, evidence requirement, dependency, or commercial condition.
An Engagement is a defined commercial or delivery undertaking governed by an agreement, statement of work, engagement letter, schedule, assignment, or other controlling instrument. An executed Offering should become or give rise to an Engagement.
Guidance¶
An Offering is not automatically a Product, Practice, legal Engagement, Statement of Work, or commercial instrument.
An Offering may:
- use Products;
- apply Practices;
- rely on Patterns;
- use Platforms;
- follow Playbooks;
- produce Proof;
- use Performance Measures;
- be delivered through an Engagement.
Offering descriptions should not create legal obligations, fixed pricing, fixed duration, guaranteed outcomes, or universal commercial mechanics unless incorporated into a controlling instrument.
Numbering Model¶
Offering Classes should be organized as first-level children under this Offerings area.
For example:
02.030.010.100.000 = Value Realization Briefing Offering Class
02.030.010.100.100 = Value Realization Briefing for Cloud Economic Optimization
This preserves a clear hierarchy:
Offerings
Offering Class
Individual Offering
Initial Offering Classes¶
The initial Alescent Offering Classes are:
- Value Realization Briefing
- Value Realization Assessment
- Value Realization Economic Case
- Value Realization Portfolio Management
Governance¶
Each Offering Class and Offering should eventually be maintained as a structured Applied Value Library item with source artifacts, owner group, maturity state, related practices, related patterns, related products, related proof, evidence basis, commercialization readiness, version lineage, and website use status.
